fore the kids
First Tee - Greater Charleston is building a Learning Center and Kids Course that will broaden access to golf-based character development programs and educational enrichment opportunities for Charleston Area youth.
our campaign
First Tee - Greater Charleston is raising money to build a Youth Leadership Campus! Our campus will feature a 11,007 sq ft Learning Center with classroom space, indoor practice areas, and hitting bays alongside Charleston’s first nine-hole Kids Course, designed by Troy Miller and Brian Schneider.
These amenities will broaden access to golf-based character development programs that inspire young people to pursue their personal best—on and off the golf course—by providing dedicated space for educational enrichment, mentoring, and community engagement.
With your help, we can create something bigger than classrooms and more meaningful than golf amenities. Together, we can open doors to a supportive community and game-changing opportunities that will change what’s possible for generations to come.
By way of its senior leadership, Greystar, a Charleston-based real estate platform, is supporting our capital raise by pledging to match all campaign gifts, dollar-for-dollar up to $250,000, now through December 31. Donate now to double your impact!
our story
First Tee – Greater Charleston was founded in 2008 to positively impact the lives of children by providing educational programs that build character and instill life-enhancing values through the game of golf.
We now serve more than 25,000 young people each year on golf courses, in schools, and through community partner organizations like Camp Happy Days and Charleston County Parks and Rec.
In 2021, we launched after-school bus transportation and a year-round golf and STEM immersion program called Pathfinders to reach more kids in underserved communities. Demand for these programs and similar on-course play opportunities consistently exceeds the capacity of what our partnering golf courses can provide. Dedicated golf activity and classroom space is needed for sustainable program growth and increased course access.
Families consistently report benefits for their children beyond learning how to play golf, including improved confidence, better social skills, stronger coping skills, and a stronger desire to achieve.

fore the kids
As Charleston's only golf course designed for kids and the Southeast’s only public course catering exclusively to youth play, our course will be open to all children ages 5–18, regardless of First Tee program enrollment. To maintain a welcoming, youth-centric environment, adults will only be permitted to play when accompanied by a junior golfer.
“First Tee - Greater Charleston is like a home to me. Even as an alum, they continue to be there for me.
I hope you will consider supporting their campaign to build a Learning Center and Kids Course so we can nurture more young minds through the on-course experiences and mentorship that had such a meaningful impact on me.”
